Meet Rhonda

I was born in the fall of 1961, the oldest of three children; I have two younger brothers, our parents living in California at the time. We moved to Oregon in 1963, where I have lived since. I grew up in Oregon along the coast, in rural areas; I love the outdoors and nature.
Our dad always told us we were Dutch, Devil and Bulldog. Then he would tell us about our heritage, Cherokee, Choctaw, Dutch, Black Dutch, Scotts, Irish, Welsh, French, German, and Norse I am very proud of all that I am.
My life changed in the fall of 1991, for the better. I began to attend Pow Wows, the heartbeat of the drum was soothing, and I was home. I learned more about my native culture and native culture in general. I have been a part of and attended native ceremonies since. In 1995, the year of the mud bowl dance, everyone that was there will always remember that year; I went on the hill, looking into my life...what am I supposed to be doing here, what is my purpose? I said my prayers. I asked about the plant people, I had been learning about and what to do. The answer was very simple...keep doing what you are doing. The next year I became a grandma; my first-born grandson came into this world. Unknown at the time, he would come to live with me and I would be his guardian, legal and otherwise.
I am daughter, sister, mother, auntie and grandmother. I have two grown adult children and four grandchildren, all I adore.
Love Deeds By RhondaTM is something done from the heart with goodwill and happiness intended. A gift is been given to me that I may learn, grow, help others, and nurture Mother Earth. I accept this gift. Many things inspire me: my heritage, a spiritual awareness, and events in my life, nature, and the tides of emotions. I hope to be able to help humankind and share my knowledge, with others.
Training:
I am a studied herbalist. My interest started in 1980, using herbal teas, looking for a cure for “The plague of Psoriasis”. I have been afflicted since I was eighteen months old. Beginning in 1991 my studies deepened and I really started digging in. Reading everything, I could get my hands on. I began making tinctures, oils, and ointments. Through trial and error, I discovered recipes that work for my family and me.
Herbalists I study and diligently references; Michael Moore, David Hoffmann, Steven Foster, Lesley Tierra, James and F. Phyllis A. Balch, just to name a few. I look forward to learning more.
Philosophy:
Cause no harm to the plant or fellow humans. I believe in the wholistic approach, mind, body and spirit. We wild harvest and grow with respect for the plant and Mother Earth; asking permission and making an offering, taking only small amounts as needed. Harvesting at the proper time, above ground portions or roots, for each individual plant.
Wild harvested and grown herbs are organic but not certified. Occasionally we run low and must buy our herbs, purchased herbs certified organic. Supplies and herbs needed, that we have yet to grow or find in the wild, we purchased from Mountain Rose Herbs.
Products made are not standardized. Standardized products are the result of using harsh chemicals to extract what is "thought" to be the main active ingredient. These chemicals not fully removed, and trace elements remain. When we isolate compounds and synthesize them, we have left out all the other working ingredients, naturally produced by the plant. Our body functions as a whole, plants are the same. The one constitute that may seem like it is not an active ingredient may just be the facilitator that makes the plant work to nurture our body systems.
Our herbal products look and smell like the plants we make them from, no fillers or chemicals.
For maximum benefits, herbal products must be taken as suggested on the label. The suggested amount derived from years of study, personal use and time honored herbalist I diligently reference.
"ALWAYS" start with the lowest dose and "do not" exceed the maximum dose.
